#1: JOE THOMAS, OT
Everyone knew this would be the choice as the most important Brown on the roster. The Browns have made some atrocious picks since their return in '99 but thankfully hit a huge home run on this pick. I recently read on a boston blog that Thomas is a suitable, but not overwhelming lineman. Not sure which Joe T they were watching, because Thomas is elite. Sure, he doesn't have a flawless game, such as the match-up with John Abraham this past season, but he is still one of the best pass blockers in the league and, in my opinion, is underrated in his strength and run blocking. With him, Steinbach, and my boy Alex Mack, the Browns have actually formed a credible unit. Almost...if only they can find a suitable right tackle to pin on the other side. Maybe they'll address that next week?
